A #walkwithwynsors in Bingley

At Wynsors, we think that a walk in the countryside is one of Britain’s favourite pastimes. With this in mind, and to celebrate the launch of our brand new outdoor range, we decided that this would be the perfect excuse to invite a few selected bloggers and their families to join us on a day out to explore Bingley.

Bingley Walk

On a recent Saturday morning, eight bloggers and their families, who had travelled to West Yorkshire from all across the North of England, braved the rain with us to see what the charming market town of Bingley had to offer.

Canal Walk

Bingley is incredibly easy to get to by train or by car, with ample parking and only a 5-minute walk to the Yorkshire countryside. The walk took us along the Leeds-Liverpool canal, the North Bog, and the Five Rise Locks, also known as ‘one of the wonders of the waterways’.

Walking in the Rain

Bingley Walkers Are Welcome kindly led the walk for us and shared their expert local knowledge about the history and nature along the way. The children were able to spot the wonderful wildlife whilst walking along the canal and learned about the different species they saw in the activity packs provided by The Canal River Trust.

Highlights of the day included a ‘frog race’ performed by the children, feeding oats to the ducks, and a glorious lunch at The Potting Shed in Bingley.

Five Rise Locks

Once we’d dried off from the rain and enjoyed a delicious lunch, we said our goodbyes to the families and gave them some goodie bags for their next walking adventure. If you’d like to try out this walk, you can download a map of our trail here.
