I bought these walking boots for my granddaughter who only needed them for a one night walking trip with school. I did not want to pay a massive amount because I was not sure if she would want to use them again. These seemed a bargain in the sale. I waterproofed them with a good waterproofer which was for leather and fabric. I am very disappointed, she came back from the trip with the boots absolutely soaking wet through on the inside. It seems that there was no protection from the damp at all. It is fairly obvious to me that if you are going walking, you may encounter rain or wet grass and that the boots should give at least some protection. When I called in to your company, I was told that all the solid parts of the boot would be waterproof but the material not and this is why I waterproofed them. They performed worse than I could have anticipated and I am very grateful that she only had to endure sodden feet for that short period of time; they would have been absolutely useless for any longer. These boots were cheaper as they were in the sale but this should not mean that they are not fit for purpose and in my opinion, having been a walker for many years, they are not fit for purpose. My husband wears walking shoes that are not waterproof and has worn them for several years; they never let in water; he never gets wet feet and I believe that we will never be able to use the boots again so therefore they were a complete waste of my money and once again, I am really disappointed in them.
