Fresh from graduating from a Fashion Design Course at the University of Central Lancashire, It’s back to school for me! Well, not literally, this time round I’ll be helping to design the new range of Back to School shoes for 2012. After scouring the high street and designer shops I am happy to report back on the key trends for the new Autumn Winter 2011 school year. So get your pens and pencils ready and take note…
Whatever your style, check out our exciting new range of on trend school shoes, perfect for the new school year. For older girls it’s all about pretty ballerinas with attitude, mixing chic bows and rock and roll studs. Our Platino styles Tori, Bella and my personal favourite Bonny, sum up the key ballerina trends for the Autumn/Winter 2011 season.
Once again Flower power rules with styles such as our Platino’s Eve and Chelsea making flower embellishment fashionable and trendy for older girls. For younger girls flower detail is key for this season. Our Princess Stardust styles Harriet and Della embody this floral trend, with cute girly designs perfect for the new school year.
Stepping away from the floral trend, sporty styles are back! Sketchers Pouty, Platino’s Leah and Princess Stardust’s Sarah are the epitome of understated cool with their slick sporty style perfect for the playground.
Last but not least it the boys!!! As always the formal shoe rules, with streamlined dynamic styles such as Rockstorm’s Wrexham ticking all the boxes. The formal style also sees a revamp this season with Velcro straps adding a practical and versatile dimension whilst maintaining an edgy twist. Check out styles such as Rockstorm’s Kyle 2 and Lancaster to explore this new key look.
Sporty styles once again are taking the season by storm! Hi-tech design influences sporty details making designs such as Pod’s Domino and Sketchers Diameter firm favourites for the season. Traffic’s Toby uses technology to not only look incredibly cool, with it’s on and off flashing light soles, but to also help keep kids safe when walking on dark winter nights…a winner in my books!
With the British weather being as predictable as ever it’s no wonder that boot style shoes are an essential trend for back to school shoes. Rockstorm’s sturdy Sand is perfect for the Autumn/Winter rainy days, as well as being practical, they look amazingly cool too!
