Wynsors has put a 10-year-old’s dream backpack into production after she created the winning design for our 2017 back to school competition.
The St Lukes C of E pupil, Mya Blackmore’s, bag design entry; featuring a unicorn drawing and bright multi colours, was selected by our judging panel for demonstrating fashion consciousness and unique style.
Her sketch was also praised for being on-trend, given the recent unicorn merchandise craze.
Staff at Mya’s local Hanley branch invited the young fashionista into the store and handed over the one-off exclusive bag – designed by Mya herself.
Receiving the well-deserved prize just before the new school year started, Mya left Wynsors fully equipped for the term ahead, with a school backpack to be proud of.
Mya Blackmore said: “This is the first design competition I’ve ever entered and I’m so excited to have won! I can’t wait to show my new bag to all of my friends at school on the playground.”
Mya’s father, Scott Blackmore, said: “Mya is completely thrilled to have won Wynsors’ design a bag competition, she is crazy about unicorns at the moment, and it’s fantastic to see her creative talent rewarded with an item of her own design, that she can keep for school and beyond.”
Paula Cooper, store manager at Wynsors Hanley, said: “As experts in all things back to school, it’s fantastic to be able to reward a youngster for creating a school backpack that really expresses their own style and interests on the playground.
“For us, Mya’s custom creation really expressed personality, as well as being trendy and creative – she has a clear talent for fashion design!”
