Timberland Boots - Cheap Timberland Footwear & Timberland Trainers
Timberland Boots and Footwear. In 1918, Nathan Swartz, began a boot-making career as an apprentice stitcher at The Abington Shoe Company in Massachusetts. He started at the lowest rung on the ladder, learned his trade, and through hard work and determination, eventually became the owner of the company. In 1968 Nathan retired, leaving Abington in his sons' capable hands. Two years later, the brothers moved the company to New Hampshire and set their sights on producing tough, thoroughly waterproof boots capable of standing up to the worst weather and the ravages of time. After persuading Goodyear to design a synthetic rubber sole capable of withstanding the harshest elements, the Swartz’s used injection molding to bond the soles to genuine leather uppers. To test for water resistance, the brothers tried everything from weighting boots with metal and submerging them in a bucket to filling the boot itself with dyed water and waiting for leaks. The result was Abington's first truly waterproof boots, which the company began marketing under the brand name Timberland in 1973, however the boot became so popular that the company name was officially changed to The Timberland Company. Throughout the next couple of decades the range of products produced by Timberland grew to include Timberland casual shoes and Timberland boat shoes and then Timberland clothing; all meant to reflect a rugged outdoor style synonymous with Timberland footwear.
Since the 1990's, Timberland boots have risen in popularity and taken on a new urban image. This image has been created and helped by various hip hop and rap celebrities such as Busta Rhymes, 50 Cent, and Missy Elliot. Still, Timberlands will always be functional and useful as trail and hiking wear and the urban jungle is not the first wilderness that comes to mind when we see a pair of Timberlands. So whatever you are expecting to get from your Timberland boots, buy them at wynsors and you will get a great deal!
