The Camp Rock story follows Mitchie Torres (Played by Demi Lovato), a talented young musician who dreams of become a professional singer. Mitchie has her heart set on going to a music camp "Camp Rock". But since her family are unable to afford the tuition, Mitchie's mother arranges to supply catering for the camp, and hey presto Mitchie is able to attend. Mitchie tries to hide her mother’s involvement from her friends at Camp Rock to try and save face.

Spoiled brat and pop star Shane Gray (Played by real life pop star Joe Jonas) has been sent to Camp Rock to try and curb his cocky and arrogant nature and is put in charge of dance classes for a month at Camp Rock by his fellow bandmates Jason and Nate. Shane hears Mitchie singing and falls in love with her voice, but has no idea who the singer is. Shane then spends much of the movie searching for this mystery girl with the captivating voice. Shane and Mitchie have various meetings and interactions, and, when Shane eventually realises who she is, in true Disney style, romance between the two inevitably blossoms.
