Wynsors Give Helping Hand To Happy House – Children of Watamu Charity

The Children of Watamu charity recently put out an appeal for kids clogs as the children they care for were in desperate need of footwear. After seeing the appeal, and the exceptional work the charity carries we decided to get involved. We quickly got in touch with the lovely people at Happy House and organised for 48 pairs to be sent to our Fleetwood store so that Elizabeth from the Charity could collect them. We also discovered that they were in need of school socks so happily threw in a few hundred pairs of these for good measure!

Cloggs Arrive

The Children of Watamu charity was founded by Sue Hayward in 2000 after an emotional visit to a school in Watamu, a small coastal village in Kenya. Over the past 15 years Sue, along with the help of volunteers, sponsors and friends has managed to completely change the lives of hundreds of children. Classrooms have been built, library’s stocked with books, PC’s brought in for the children and much much more.

Happy House Logo Since 2010 Sue’s attention has turned to the building of the Happy House a place where abandoned children could be cared for in a loving and safe environment. The Happy House has changed the lives of hundreds of children who have been born into unimaginable poverty, neglect and abuse. The House has gone from strength to strength and is a massive bonus to the children of Watamu, but the work is far from over. If you’re unaware of the great work carried out by the charity and how you can get involved you can find out more on their website here.
