Wynsors Supports Neighbourhood Policing
Management and staff at our Leeds York Road branch have been working with their local neighbourhood policing team to help promote taking simple steps to keep homes more secure by encouraging school children from the ages of five to eleven to take the message home and help make their parents aware of ways to make their homes safer.
Each child was given an ultra violet security marker that can be used to code valuable items around the home as well as a home security questionnaire. Every completed questionnaire was then entered in to a prize draw, which Wynsors contributed towards. Inspector Jackie Hawkes who leads the local neighbourhood policing scheme, said “The local schools we work with have been really supportive…and I would like to thank them as well as a number of local businesses that have donated so generously”.
Schemes like these can make a huge difference to local communities. As well as just making them nicer places to live, they go a long way to instilling good habits for personal and home security in children from an early age.
